The Connection Between Alcohol and InfertilityAll women who are trying to get pregnant should learn and take seriously the fact that adverse reproductive effects of alcohol can range greatly, from interfering with conception to an increased risk for spontaneous abortion. Drinking is not going to do anything positive when it comes to fertility and so if you are looking to conceive, steer clear of alcohol. Remember Besides alcohol and infertility, there are a few other issues that you need to take into consideration here as well. Although alcohol and fertility is one of the most important issues here, so is the issue of nutrition, for one. If you are trying to get pregnant you are going to have to make sure that you are eating a healthy, well-balanced diet. Make sure that you are eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads and cereals, and that you are drinking plenty of water each day, six to eight glasses if you can. Another issue that is important here, other than alcohol and fertility, involves exercise. You certainly do not need to have a six pack of abs to get pregnant, but you do want to make sure that you are in the best shape possible. Even if you just fit in a few hours of exercise a week you will still be benefiting, so make sure that you stay active. Talk to your doctor if you are experiencing fertility problems, and they will not only be able to determine the problem, but also help you learn more about the options that are available to you here. In vitro fertilization is one of the most popular, and involves the fertilization of egg cells outside a woman's body which are then transferred to her tubes. It actually involves several different steps, of which are performed over an approximate three week period. Most couples are able to achieve pregnancy within three procedures or less, which is quite impressive, especially for couples who have been trying for years to get pregnant with no success. |
