Everybody Needs Allergy Free Bedding - How Can You Have That?

The bedroom is not only a place to sleep, but also a place where you feel most comfortable. This is one spot in the whole house where you enjoy complete privacy. What happens however, if whenever you are in the bedroom or on the bed you get the worst type of allergy and start sneezing, have your eyes water and what not? Do you go and sleep on the couch? Or do you try to get an allergy free bedding and regain your bedroom?

It Is Easy To Get An Allergy Free Bedding - Without Buying A New One

There are many ways to keep your bedding allergy free. A few of these are described here. You need not adopt all of them; just check out what suits you and do accordingly. As you would see, this is not very difficult and in the end you would have an exceedingly comfortable bedroom.

First of all you need to know why you are getting allergy. Most of the house allergies are due to dust mites and these dust mites are live organisms which live and breed happily in your bedding if these are not cleaned well enough. Bed hygiene demands that you change your bed sheets every week and have these washed with hot water; the mattress pads (if you use these) and any blankets should be washed every two weeks and your pillows every month once. This would destroy the dust mites if they get hold of your bedding.

It is very important when you wash your bedclothes to use hot water exclusively because cold water encourages the growth of dust mites and therefore it works against your purpose.

If you are unable to wash your bedding as frequently ensure that you insulate it by encasing it in dust-free covers. Ensure that you sun your bedding at least once a month so the dust mites would die. In case you do not find dust-free covers you could use simple plastic of vinyl covers to seal your bedding from dust mites. This would ensure that you have allergy free bedding all year round.

For foolproof allergy free bedding you need to stay away natural fiber pillows and quilts because down, feathers or kapok however well washed and sanitized they still encourage micro-organisms to grow on them; and these in turn create the allergy you want to avoid.

Beware that the allergy you may be suffering from may not come only from the bedding. For all you know you might be already having allergy free bedding but still suffer from allergy reactions. Check out the blinds, the drapes and the like- these might be housing the dust mites you are trying to avoid.

Lastly, maintain the room's humidity at 25-40% as this would kill the dust mites; you could use an air conditioner or air dehumidifier for this purpose.
