You see, young children learn a lot from their environment so if you want you kids to grow up into peace loving citizens, show them that conflicts can be resolved without violence. For instance, instead of scolding your kids and shouting at them when they do something wrong, talk to them gently and tell them that you are not happy with what they did. If you have to punish them, do not use force.

Moreover, you need to explain to them why they are being punished. Your kids need to understand that their actions have consequences and that they should not be angry if they get punished. They need to understand that rewards and punishments are necessary to balance things up. When commit something wrong, they get punished and when they do something good, they get rewarded.

You attitude matters when you teach your kids anger management techniques so be careful. Do not instill negative ideas in the mind of your kids if you want them to grow up more open minded. For instance, when teaching kids about anger management skills, you need to let them understand that they do not have to win all arguments. Let them understand that there will be times when they need to let go and let the other person win. They should also understand that letting the other person win is not a sign of weakness on their part. They should know that sometimes, the other person is right so he or she deserves to win the argument.
