Is There A Difference Between Anxiety Or Panic Attack?

Many people will find the stress of the day wearing them down and sometimes they will think that the fatigue and headaches they get are a panic attack. In reality the question of anxiety or panic attack has some very definite answers and the two are most certainly not the same. It is important to understand when you have anxiety or panic attack because there is a large difference in treatments between anxiety or panic attack and if you mistake one for the other then you could take the wrong approach and use the wrong treatment.

In either case anxiety or panic attack are the most common emotional disorders out there and nearly everyone at some point has experienced a feeling of anxiety while a fewer number of people experience panic attacks. If you do feel that you are constantly reacting to stress and you are uncomfortable frequently then the best thing to do is get to your doctor immediately as prolonged anxiety or panic attack symptoms could increase the possibility of heart attack or stroke and that is something you do not need. So take a little time to know if you are experiencing anxiety or panic attack and you could save yourself a lot of hassle.

Anxiety is the natural human reaction to stress and stressful situations in our everyday life. Different people have different reactions to anxiety. In some cases anxiety is used as a personal motivator to go out and accomplish the tasks that have brought the anxiety about. In other cases anxiety can become a burden for someone and they find themselves surrendering to the weight of their stress. In extreme cases anxiety, if it is prolonged and severe enough, can develop into a panic attack but those cases are not as frequent as you would think. When you are discussing anxiety or panic attack the two will usually remain very separate and anxiety can usually be dealt with by simply taking a deep breath and putting things into perspective.

A Panic Attack On The Other Hand

A panic attack is the central nervous system's response to extreme fear or a defense mechanism when the body feels as if it were being threatened. A panic attack has very different physical symptoms that range from nausea and dizziness to shortness of breath and chest pains. People will often mistake panic attacks for a stroke or a heart attack and while they are not quite that severe a prolonged exposure to panic attacks can lead to a stroke or a heart attack. Doctors can prescribe medications for a panic attack and in many cases will recommend a series of exercises to relieve the symptoms.

The question of anxiety or panic attack is an easy one to answer when you know the symptoms of the two conditions and it is important to know the difference because one condition can cause a headache while the other could kill you if you do not have it treated.
