The patch is easy to use in that the sealed package is open and the protective cover is peeled off of the patch. One side of the patch is sticky in texture and this is the side that is placed against the skin of the upper arm. In order to make sure that the seal is maximized the patch is pressed firmly against the arm for about 10 to 15 seconds.

Generally, the patch is worn for a specific period of time. That period of time can range anywhere from 16 to 24 hours. Following the removal of this patch another patch is applied and should be placed on a different part of the body.

In addition, it is important to follow the instructions for the handling of the nicotine patch. Often these instructions include not touching the adhesive side of the patch nor allowing children to come in contact with the patch. In addition, the product should not be used if the individual is pregnant.

There are many ways that an individual can take advantage of this best way to quit smoking. This can be accomplished by attending seminars, by going online to various web sites to find out about the effects of smoking and how to get control of this habit, or by obtaining other powerful literature that will educate the individual.

Often these resources will provide excellent quit smoking tips that an individual can utilize on a day-to-day basis. Some of those tips could include the action of only smoking half of the cigarette or chewing gum to take away the craving of having that cigarette in one's mouth.
