LASIK Surgery

Colorado Eye Care provides all the care you need for a successful result: pre-operative, surgical, and follow-up care, performed not by an assistant, but by the surgeon himself.

Cataract Surgery

Colorado Eye Care also meets Englewood area residents' needs for cataract surgery. Experts estimate that half Americans aged 65 years old have some form of cataracts. Today, cataract surgery is considered a normal procedure for people to have to extend their independence as they age.

History Of The Clinic

Colorado Eye Care has been operating for 24 years, with a focus on treating the entire patient, not just the problem. In addition to treating vision problems, the clinic manages macular degeneration, dry eye, allergy eyes, and diabetic eyes.

The clinic is staffed by two outstanding ophthalmologists: Dr. Jamell and Dr. Kelmenson.



Dr. Richard Kelmenson

Dr. Kelmenson started Colorado Eye Care in 1983, with five years of medical experience to his credit at the time. He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1977 and completed a year of pediatric medicine at University of Maryland Hospital.

Dr. Kelmenson trained as an ophthalmologist at University of Colorado Medical Center, and he is Board Certified in Ophthalmology.

Dr. Gary A. Jamell

Dr. Jamell joined Colorado Eye Care to treat residents in Englewood and the surrounding areas for their eye care problems. He graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1991 and spent a year at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver practicing internal medicine before he decided to specialize in Ophthalmology.

Dr. Jamell is also Board Certified. He is currently a clinical instructor of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado.

Ophthalmology Qualifications

Do you know what kind of training an ophthalmologist has to have? Four years of undergraduate education, four years of medical school, one year of general internship, and three years of specialized eye care.

Dr. Kelmenson and Dr. Jamell have both completed a minimum of twelve years of education to qualify them as ophthalmologists.
