Using Herbs For Arthritis

A lot of people who suffer from arthritis are happy to hear about anything new that is found to help treat the pain that comes from this terrible condition. While you will most likely not hear your family doctor talk about using herbs for arthritis, there are a lot of people who are playing around with the idea of giving it a try. Some people who have used herbs for arthritis in the past swear by it while others claim that they saw no difference what so ever.

A person must be careful before starting anything new in their treatment for their arthritis even if it is just herbs for arthritis. The best thing is to always speak with your doctor first about it so that they are aware of your intentions and can warn you of any possible side effects. And if you are currently taking any prescribed medications for your arthritis, you are going to want to speak a lot with your doctor, as you should never just stop any medication that you have been placed on. Stopping some medications without lowering doses first could have extremely bad side effects.

Types Of Herbs Used

The list for the different types of herbs used for arthritis is very long and you should always research an herb before you begin taking it as just because something is from nature, does not mean that it could not have side effects that can come along with it. You will find though, through even your own research, that a lot of people tend to use Alfalfa, Celery, Ginseng, Oregano, Mustard Plaster, Sesame Seeds, and Wintergreen for their treatment of arthritis. But then they are people who end up finding they have an allergic reaction to some things that they never knew about.

And even though that list was a little long, there are even more herbs used for arthritis then that. Some people even find that Devil's Claw, Feverfew, Yucca, Hops, Chaparral, and Angelica work for their treatment and then again, some people see no help from the use of these at all. Some people even swear by Black Cohosh, Stinging Nettle, and Turmeric as their choice of herbs for arthritis treatment. Again, everybody is different and therefore what worked for one person may not work so well for another so be cautious and remember to keep your doctor informed about what you are doing and what you are taking.
