Fast Foods Are Also High Cholesterol Foods

If you cannot resist the temptation to eat foods that are filled with grease which is very heavy, you will end up paying the price of having developed high cholesterol. Thus you will have put your health under unnecessary strain. Most high cholesterol foods are rich in saturated fats and cholesterol and this is bad news for you because it will cause your bad (LDL) cholesterol to rise and that in turn could lead to various heart diseases, and even lead to a stroke.

Saturated Fats Are Very Bad for You

If you love eating animal foods, you will in fact, actually end up raising your cholesterol levels. Though cholesterol levels by themselves are not so dangerous, it is the high amount of saturated fats that are contained in such foods that will put your health under a severe strain. High cholesterol foods will end up making your liver produce more cholesterol than is good for your health. When LDL cholesterol and triglycerides become more than is allowable, you will end up paying the price of poor cardiovascular health.

Rather than blindly eating high cholesterol foods, you would be well advised to opt for foods which are labeled as being free from cholesterol. Though such foods won't have any big effect on cholesterol levels, they will at least not contain saturated fats that are the main culprit behind cholesterol problems. To illustrate, even though coconut oil does not contain cholesterol, it nevertheless has much saturated fat and thus is detrimental to your health since it will cause the fat to build up plaque in the arteries and that in turn will lead to various heart diseases.

To be sure, high cholesterol foods need not mean that such foods have high levels of cholesterol. Rather, they are simply those foods that contain substances that can raise the level of LDL (bad) cholesterol in your blood and thus lead to further heart related problems.

Some examples of high cholesterol foods are processed foods, prepared foods such as pastries, cookies and muffins that have too much fat content. In addition, even animal products including fish, poultry, high fat milk and egg yolks are also examples of high cholesterol foods.

Furthermore, sardines, cakes, heavy creams, ice creams, butter, cream cheese, lamb, cheese, beefsteaks, and veal are also examples of high cholesterol foods, which should be avoided as much as possible. In fact, when reducing or avoiding high cholesterol foods intake you need to also accompany such as step by also making a point of exercising enough and quitting smoking as well as abstaining from excessive alcohol consumption.

Taken together, the above-mentioned steps can help you control your bad cholesterol and keep you in good health. They can also free from worrying about when you are going to suffer a stroke or experience a heart attack.
