Common Causes of Men's Hair LossIt is actually a normal phase in our lives where we experience hair loss. You can expect to shed some hair every day. Do not panic if you see some hair left in your brush or when you bathe because this is supposed to happen. Men's hair loss may not be as noticeable as women's hair loss because women's hair is longer than men's. Excessive Men's Hair Loss There are instances, though, that excessive men's hair loss may be experienced. This may even result to bald patches or thinning hair in some areas. One of the common causes of men's hair loss may be the trauma of an illness or surgery. This kind of hair loss usually occurs a few months after the illness or surgery happened so you may not be able to link this to your hair loss. Hair loss of this kind is only temporary and when you get back to your normal everyday routine, your hair grows back eventually. Another reason for men's hair loss can be male pattern baldness. This is a condition where some men's hair falls off in a pattern like in the crown of the head or right after the forehead. This is actually a genetic trait that one gets from your ancestors. If you have a male relative who is naturally bald or has thinning hair at the temples or crown, chances are you are a candidate for it, too. This kind of men's hair loss is permanent and you will have to resort to surgery or other medical means to recreate your full head of hair. Men's hair loss can also be caused by your hairstyle. Men with long hair may tie their hair back into a pony tail. The pressure of the pony tail can irritate hair follicles and cause them to die out. In many cases of this kind of men's hair loss, the hair grows back when you cease to tie it back frequently. There are many treatments that you can try to reverse men's hair loss. Actually, these treatments are superfluous when it comes to male pattern baldness because it is a permanent loss. |
