What is the age you think menopause occurs? Most women would be of the opinion that 45 years of age is about the right time give or take a few years. If you are one among those women, here is a news flash for you - menopause can strike even women who are in their late thirties. This is called premature menopause.

What Are The Premature Menopause Symptoms?

There are many reasons that could trigger menopause earlier in life and this could throw you completely off balance if you are not able to recognize that the changes you are experiencing are in fact premature menopause symptoms.

Are you having irregular periods? This would the one of the first signs that your body is readying for menopause. Do you find that you lost interest in sex? Do you find your skin suddenly feels like parchment paper? Do you feel like bursting into tears for the most trivial of reasons? Do you find yourself affected by hot flushes, i.e. feel very hot all of a sudden (this has no bearing on the weather or room temperature) often becoming drenched with sweat.

All these and many more are premature menopause symptoms that you should recognize and be aware of. It would also be a great advantage if you are prepared to deal with each of these symptoms as and when they arise.

What Triggers Premature Menopause Symptoms?

It is not sufficient that you recognize these signs. You also need to know what to do when such problems strike you. However, the question here arises on how would you know that you are a candidate for premature menopause? What causes premature menopause?

Genetics is one often encountered factor that triggers this condition, therefore if you know anyone who is blood related to you and who has gone through premature menopause, there are fair chances that you could too.

Another factor that could induce this condition is any medical intervention that directly or indirectly affects the ovaries such as hysterectomy, chemotherapy or radiation. Diseases such as cervical cancer, lupus, Grave's disease, rectal cancer and hypothyroidism among many others could trigger premature menopause symptoms as well.

What You Can Do About It?

If you find you are going through premature menopause, do not panic. Consult a doctor who would be able to help you counter most of the symptoms. You could also take up yoga or any exercise that you favor as this is found to be extremely beneficial. Ensure that you educate yourself well on what to expect so you would not only be prepared for it mentally, but also find adequate solutions to avert the discomfort and suffering that it brings with it.
