The Very Real Danger of Strong Emotions in Hypnosis

Hypnosis can be a very dangerous activity if carried out by inexperienced, or unprofessional, people for the wrong reasons. People often look at the stage hypnotist as a trained professional when in reality the stage hypnotist is a master at deception and choosing people from the audience that seem like they would be willing to put on a show for the rest of the crowd.

There is a clinical case that is fairly popular of a woman who was having behavioral problems for 10 years. No one could figure out what the issue was until it was discovered that 10 years earlier she had participated in a stage hypnotist show and some very deep and negative emotions were uncovered during the performance.

Through clinical treatment she was able to solve her problems but this is a popular example of the strong emotions in hypnosis that, if done by the wrong person, can cause serious problems for a very long time. It is not just entertainers that can unleash strong emotions in hypnosis, inexperienced hypnotists that are trying to practice clinical hypnosis can also release strong emotions in hypnosis and cause just as much damage as the entertainer can.

The use of hypnosis by entertainers is often misunderstood as the hypnotist having some sort of strange power over the subjects on stage. In reality all he has done is chosen people that seem like extroverts to him and he is hoping they would be willing to put on a show for the audience.

The hypnotist will usually choose a large group of people and then eliminate those over the course of the show that seem less likely to continue to cooperate and he will keep those subjects that are the most entertaining. Rarely is there any real hypnotism going on but sometimes things can be done to trigger strong emotions in hypnosis on stage and that can affect someone's life for years. It happens a lot more than you think.

So What Is The Answer?

It is a bit extreme to say that you should avoid the possibility of unleashing strong emotions in hypnosis by avoiding all hypnotist shows completely. They are very entertaining but you should always be aware of what you are getting into so that you can avoid the possibility that you may be the one to have strong emotions in hypnosis be unearthed during a simple hypnotist performance. It is not something to take lightly and while the stage hypnotist attempts to read people as accurately as they can they sometimes make a wrong choice so just do not let that wrong choice be you.

Hypnosis should be given only by highly trained professionals that know how to deal with the very strong emotions in hypnosis that can come up in a session. When you are under hypnosis you are asked to dig deep into your subconscious and if the person guiding you does not know how to deal with what you could find then you could stand to get hurt so just be sure of what you are getting into when it comes to hypnosis.
